The UMKC School of Medicine understands the importance of visiting campus to determine whether or not UMKC and the School of Medicine can offer you the right experience for your college education. The School of Medicine offers several options to learn more about the B.A./M.D. Program.
Campus Visit Days
School of Medicine Campus Visit Days are comprehensive, half-day programs that allow guests to explore both UMKC’s Volker and Hospital Hill campuses. During these events, prospective students have the opportunity to interact with current B.A./M.D. students, School of Medicine staff and Admissions representatives. Campus Visit Days include overview presentations, walking tours and medical simulation activities.

Prospective Student Receptions
Receptions are designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the B.A./M.D. program, School of Medicine resources, the application process/timeline, and the holistic admissions process. While this session will provide an overview of the program and program structure, it is primarily designed to provide more in-depth information on the individual components of the application and the holistic review of applications. This program may serve as a supplement to a previous campus visit or information session, or as a first-look for students interested in the B.A./M.D. program.
Future dates to be announced.
For those who would like to bring a group of students to visit, the School of Medicine offers group visit days. Group visits will include a presentation about all School of Medicine programs, a tour of the school and a hands-on activity related to medicine.
For more information or to schedule a group visit, please contact the School of Medicine Office of Admissions at 816-235-1870 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coffee Talks – St. Louis
For students who may not be able to schedule a visit to the School of Medicine or for those who would like additional information, we offer the opportunity to learn more about the School of Medicine through Coffee Talks. These one-on-one meetings provide an opportunity to meet with a School of Medicine admissions representative and receive more specific information about the B.A./M.D. program. This is not a time to discuss a student’s application to the B.A./M.D. program, rather a time to ask more detailed questions about the B.A./M.D. program and becoming a part of our medical community.
Future dates to be announced.
For students who are unable to attend or participate in another School of Medicine event, we offer the opportunity for students to learn more about the School of Medicine by participating in a webinar. Students participating in the webinar will learn more about the B.A./M.D. program, and will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenter. For an archived version of the October 2013 webinar, click here.
For students who are unable to attend a freshman visit, a campus visit day, or a prospective student reception, we offer the opportunity to learn more about the School of Medicine through a Skype appointment. These appointments are NOT designed for students who have had the opportunity to visit campus or attend another School of Medicine event, but rather for students who are unable to take advantage of those opportunities and would like to learn more about what the School of Medicine has to offer. The School of Medicine Office of Admissions will be happy to honor requests for a Skype appointment from those students who have not already attended a School of Medicine event. Skype appointments are offered Monday – Friday.
To schedule a Skype appointment, please email the School of Medicine Office of Admissions at email@example.com. In your email, please include three possible dates and times. Someone from the School of Medicine Office of Admissions will confirm the appointment time as soon as possible.
For more information about our visit options, please contact the School of Medicine Office of Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-235-1870.
