Meet Paul Ganss
Paul Ganss is the EMS Education Program Director, and Manager of the Youngblood Medical Skills Laboratory. Paul is a Nationally-certified Paramedic, graduating from the Paramedic program at the Medical College of Ohio in 1980. His experience includes working as a field paramedic in both public and private EMS operations as well as with volunteer fire and EMS agencies. He has worked in the emergency department environment, and has several years of experience in critical care transport. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Paul came to Kansas City to manage the Education Department for MAST Ambulance in 2008.
During his time at MAST, he directed the Paramedic education program, and participated in forming the affiliation between the MAST Paramedic program and the UMKC School of Medicine. In 2010, Paul came to the School of Medicine to manage the Youngblood Medical Skills Laboratory, and helped to establish Pre-hospital education programs within the School. Paul has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety from Siena Heights University, and a Master of Science in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He is also a Nationally-certified Emergency Medical Services Educator. Paul’s wife Cathy is a nurse practitioner in Fast Track at the TMC Hospital Hill Emergency Department. They reside in Blue Springs, Missouri with their Black lab, Vador.
