Meet Ryan Jacobsen
Biography

Dr. Jacobsen was born in Council Bluffs, IA. He attended the University of Iowa where he became a paramedic. After working full-time as a paramedic for several years he finished his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas. He attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine after which he completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at UMKC/Truman Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.  After residency Dr. Jacobsen joined the faculty at UMKC/Truman Medical Center where he was Associate EMS Medical Director for emergency medical services in Kansas City, MO. Dr Jacobsen was appointed the first full-time Medical Director for the Johnson County Kansas EMS System in 2013.  He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine as well as EMS Medicine.  Dr. Jacobsen has interests in EMS, resuscitation research and resident and EMS education. Dr. Jacobsen is married to his wife Cynthia who is an ER nurse and they have two young daughters named Isabella and Anna.
