Meet Srikala Subramanian
Biography

Dr. Subramanian was born and brought up in Carthage, MO. She is a graduate of the UMKC 6-year combined BA/MD program. After her fourth year of college she took a year off and participated in asthma research at National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, CO on several NIH funded projects. She returned to UMKC and finished school and attended the University of Louisville Emergency medicine program. She returned to TMC to pursue her love of teaching and focus on academics after spending a year as a Chief Resident. In July 2006 she was appointed Associate Program Director and played a key role in resident education. After a 3 year stint she stepped down from this position in 2009. Currently she the SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) medical director. Dr. Subramanian areas of interest include Sexual assault/Intimate partner violence, Sedation in the ED and preventable errors in the ED.

In her spare time Dr. Subramanian enjoys spending time with her husband and three wonderful children (2 boys and a girl), traveling and cooking.
