Applying for Admission

The School of Medicine will not be accepting applications to the Graduate Certificate in Pediatric and Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion for the 2017-2018 academic year. The application process is expected to reopen in spring 2018 for fall 2018 applications.

Overview

Applicants for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Pediatric & Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion must submit all applications and application materials. Applications must be complete before the admissions committee will consider the application for admission. Applications that remain incomplete will not be considered.

Students applying to the Graduate Certificate in Pediatric & Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion must submit the following:

  • UMKC General Application for Admission (U.S. citizens or permanent residents only),
  • UMKC Application for International Student Admission (International applicants only),
  • UMKC School of Medicine Supplemental Application,
  • Official transcripts from Perfusion education program (certificate, bachelor’s or master’s level),
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS exam scores (International applicants only),
  • Proof of acceptance into a Pediatric & Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion Fellowship, or another Perfusion Fellowship, and
  • One letter of recommendation from the Fellowship Director.

 

UMKC General Application for Admission

U.S. citizens and permanent residents must complete the UMKC General Application for Admission. Please follow the instructions provided on the application.

International applicants should review the International Student Affairs Office application and application instructions.

 

UMKC Supplemental Application for Admission

All applicants, both international and domestic, must complete the UMKC Supplemental Application for Admission. Please follow the instructions provided on the application.

Please click the link above to download the Supplemental Application. Save the downloaded PDF and complete the application. When complete, please “save as” LastName-FirstName-PCCP.pdf and email the saved PDF to medicine@umkc.edu.

 

Transcripts and Test Scores

All applicants are required to submit official college/university transcripts to the university. Transcripts may be sent to:

TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for international applicants whose native language is not English

On the TOEFL exam, a minimum scores of 550 (paper-based exam), 213 (computer-based exam) or 79 (Internet-based exam) is required, and these scores should be submitted electronically by identifying UMKC as a score recipient. The UMKC TOEFL code is 6872.

On the IELTS exam, a minimum score of 6.0 is required for graduate level study at UMKC. IELTS scores should be submitted to the International Student Affairs Office by postal mail at the address above.

 

Proof of Fellowship

All applicants are required to submit proof of acceptance into a Pediatric & Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion Fellowship, or another Perfusion Fellowship. This proof can be shown in the form of a formal letter of acceptance to the fellowship, and a copy of this letter should be submitted to:

Letter of Recommendation

All applicants are required to submit one letter of recommendation from the Fellowship Director for the Pediatric & Congenital Cardiovascular Perfusion Fellowship, or the pediatric cardiovascular perfusion fellowship, to which they are accepted. This letter of recommendation should be sent to:
