Internal Medicine Residency

Residents As Teachers Curriculum

The residents as teachers workshop series is a graduated curriculum
which begins in September of each academic year. Each month, the
residents participate in these workshops to develop and refine their
teaching skills. The workshops are held during the noon conference time.
Workshop topics have included: “5 minute preceptor”, “Defining
Expectations”, “Providing feedback”, “Evaluations” and “Modeling
Professionalism”. Following the workshop, the residents are encouraged
to practice their skills and are given feedback on their teaching from
Internal Medicine and/or Med-Peds faculty. This year, we will be
recognizing our outstanding resident teachers with the “resident teacher
of the month”.
