Residents as Teachers

Residents As Teachers

The residents as teachers workshop series is a graduated curriculum which begins in September of each academic year. Each month, the residents participate in these workshops to develop and refine their teaching skills. The workshops are held during the noon conference time. Workshop topics have included: “5 minute preceptor”, “Defining Expectations”, “Providing feedback”, “Evaluations” and “Modeling Professionalism”. Following the workshop, the residents are encouraged to practice their skills and are given feedback on their teaching from their Med-Peds faculty. This is an activity that is offered while on the internal medicine side.
