Welcome

The mission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine is to educate and train obstetric and gynecology residents to become highly proficient clinicians-, well prepared to provide high quality care and also to pursue scholarly activities. The program is based within UMKC School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and involves the primary affiliate hospitals, Truman Medical Center-Hospital Hill, St. Luke’s Hospital, Children’s Mercy Hospital, and Truman Medical Center-Lakewood. Research Medical Center is also involved as a teaching site.

We strive to provide a nurturing and intellectually stimulating learning environment with defined expectations. This allows residents to achieve excellence in all the core competencies required for providing effective and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care, and for advancing the science and practice of the specialty through scholarly activities.  This residency is designed to meet all the educational objectives specified in the Council on Residency Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Educational Objectives, Core Curriculum in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 10th edition, and to prepare the residents for Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty certification and independent practice.
