Pathology

Research

The scholarly work of our pathology residents includes one month of a research rotation during which time they work with one of the MD/PhD research associates leading into a first-author national presentation or a publication. Both are ultimately required for graduation. First-author presentation offers a stipend to cover the travel & incidental expenses. Currently, all residents are involved in ongoing research with the Director of Research at UMKC SOM. Further, they periodically produce case reports & utilization reviews within the department as opportunities to create publications. The residents also collaborate with other departments in research.
