Health Sciences Student Research Summit

The UMKC Health Sciences Research Summit enables members of the UMKC health sciences community to display poster presentations in a forum that:

  • Highlights the health sciences research being conducted in the UMKC Schools of Biological Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy, Computing and Engineering;
  • Fosters research collaborations across disciplines and schools that will produce economic, health, education and quality-of-life benefits for the greater Kansas City community.

Abstracts & Poster Submissions
  • Download the 2018 Poster Template.
  • Complete the Submission form on the REDCap portal.
  • Select abstract title carefully! It should match your poster title.
  • The submission form and posters due March 22, 2018.
2018 Health Sciences Student Research Summit
  • The event is April 18, 2018 in the Student Union (Rm 401) from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
  • Schools participating include: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biological Sciences, Engineering and Arts & Science
  • Students should be prepared to give 3-5 minutes presentation to viewers –allow 5 minutes for questions.
  • Research Administration will put up SOM posters.

SOM Judging of Student Posters/Presentations
SOM students will be assigned specific times for their poster & presentation to be judged.

Student poster presentations will be judged by a SOM faculty member and you will be notified of your approximate judge time. Awards are available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for the BA/MD students and 1st place for the post-graduate students.
