Clinical Training Facility

Central Line Training

Our simulation center hosts regularly schedule central line training courses through the UMKC Graduate Medical Education Office.  Our main training program focuses on the basics of safe central line insertion practice including but not limited to: ultrasound assessment, ultrasound-guided needling techniques, case-based complication review, and a low-fidelity simulated insertion with an emphasis on kit components and central line bundle elements. This course is designed for both novice inserters, those experienced but less familiar with an ultrasound-guided approach,  and experienced inserters looking to refresh their skills.  Competency-based assessments are currently being developed.

See the events calendar  for information on upcoming courses. Or contact Dr. Emily Hillman for more details on upcoming courses and the cost for non-University employees.
