Meet Donald Hopewell
Biography

Dr. Hopewell was born and raised in Iowa and received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and medical degree from the University of Iowa. During medical school he completed a one year pathology externship in addition to the regular four year program of studies. He completed a one-year internal medicine internship at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas. This was followed by neurology residency then fellowship in neuromuscular disease and electrodiagnosis at the University of Kansas. His career has been predominantly clinical neurology in the Kansas City metropolitan area as well as on the East Coast. He has also been involved in intraoperative monitoring and clinical neurophysiology on a national scale and has lectured in China on intraoperative monitoring. He was a consultant in neurology in the Arab Emirates before returning to clinical neurology in Missouri in 2005. He comes to UMKC with a focus on general neurology and electrodiagnosis.
