Meet Rola Mahmoud
Biography
Dr. Mahmoud is a board-certified neurologist with a subspecialty in multiple sclerosis. She earned her medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, where she also completed a combined neurology and psychiatry residency.
Passionate about neurology, after her move to the U.S., she completed a neurology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York followed by a fellowship in multiple sclerosis at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas.
Given the rapidly changing and advancing landscape for multiple sclerosis treatments over the last few years, Dr. Mahmoud’s fellowship training experience allows her to utilize the newest emerging therapies and tailor treatment to each individual patient as there is no single treatment approach that is suitable for every individual . Dr. Mahmoud is excited to serve the Kansas City community.
Dr. Mahmoud has participated in therapeutic clinical trials in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders. She is interested in clinical research trials for patients with multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory demyelinating diseases.
