Biography
I am a pediatric psychologist with a specific clinical and research focus on the prevention and alleviation of procedural and chronic pain, with a particular focus on the contributions of acceptance and avoidance. My overall research vision is to identify biopsychosocial predisposing factors and treatment components relevant to the return of functioning and amelioration of pain in children and adolescents with amplified pain syndromes. Based on these, to support early identification of amplified pain syndromes, improve efficacy and efficiency of current treatment, and help answer the question ‘what works for whom (and when).’ Finally, to demonstrate outcomes from intensive interdisciplinary rehabilitation, including a focus on long-term maintenance of biopsychosocial improvement. I generally have a number of projects going related to these descriptions.
