Meet Tony Toigo
Dr. Tony Toigo was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and attended college at UMKC. After majoring in Chemistry, he took a job as a technician in the Emergency Department at Truman Medical Center. It was during that time that he was accepted to medical school in Phoenix Arizona at Midwestern University. After spending 2 years in the classroom, he obtained a broad exposure to many differing practices of medicine throughout the country from California to New York and nearly everywhere in between as a 3rd and 4th year medical student. He then returned home to the Emergency Department at Truman Medical Center to complete a residency in Emergency Medicine. He now works full time in St. Joseph, MO, but stays on at Truman as part time faculty. Academic areas of interest are Wilderness Medicine and Disaster Relief. In his free time he enjoys rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking and performing with his girlfriend Stephanie in their acoustic duet. He has also recently completed training with Missouri Task Force-1, a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue team, operating as a team physician on deployment for both natural and man-made disasters.
