The School of Medicine Diversity Council will co-sponsor a special screening of a BBC documentary on HeLa cells used in cancer research at noon on Oct. 29 in Theater A.
The documentary, “The Way of All Flesh,” produced by Adam Curtis focuses on Henrietta Lacks, an African-American woman whose cancerous tumor cells were cultured to create the HeLa cell line used in cancer research since 1951.
The screening is open to faculty, students, residents and staff. Pizza will be provided.
