President's message
The start of another academic year is always an exciting time at the School of Medicine. Though there’s no such thing as “summer off” for our students, the pace picks up as everyone returns to campus. From move-in day and inDOCtrination for first-year students to the White Coat Ceremony for third-years, activities and ceremonies mark these beginnings and transitions.
It’s also a new year for the school’s first alumni dean, Mary Anne Jackson, M.D. ’78. Her term as interim dean started July 1, and she’s deeply involved in a wide range of vital duties, including alumni outreach. (More on that below.)
Please stay in touch, stay involved and let us know how we can enhance your experience as alumni. With your help and support the School of Medicine will continue to conduct leading research, train excellent residents and educate the next generation of caring, competent physicians, physician assistants and anesthesiology assistants.
Tracy L Stevens, M.D. ’90
