Virginia Wilson is from the Kansas City area with over 25 years of Fire and EMS experience. She is a graduate of the Paramedic Class of 1997 at Grand River Technical School and completed the UMBC Critical Care Paramedic Program in 2000. She is a nationally certified EMS Educator and has been a Lead Instructor and Clinical Coordinator at the University of Missouri – Columbia and the University of Missouri- Kansas City since 2013. She has also served the profession on the State and Federal Level as an EMS Inspector/Investigator and as Program Manager for the Missouri EMS for Children State Partnership Grant. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration- Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Photography from the University of Central Missouri. |

Christina Akins is a Kansas City native with over 12 years of experience in Emergency Services. She attended Kansas City Kansas Community College where she earned her Associate Degree. She went on to complete her Paramedic education through Metropolitan Community College Kansas City-Penn Valley EMS Program. Christina has experience working as a paramedic in urban and rural EMS environments, as a civilian paramedic for the military, and assisted in developing an EMS service in an existing Fire Department. She began her career in education as an EMT Lab Instructor for KCKCC before transitioning to Paramedic/EMT Instructor for MCCKC-PV. She began her career with University of Missouri-Kansas City EMS Program in 2018. She accepted the position of EMS Program Clinical Coordinator in October 2019. |
