Guest lecturer, Professor David Pickus, PhD., will speak on How Literature Helps Medical Professionals.

The COVID crisis shows the need for greater preparedness, but is there anything we can do to prepare ourselves within? This talk provides medical professionals with new ways to think about emerging dangers and vulnerabilities in a rapidly changing world.

David Pickus is the author of “What Literature Teaches in Times of Crisis: Plague Readings.” He has a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and is a Professor of History at the American University in Vietnam in Da Nang.
