Children’s Mercy Kansas City, in conjunction with the Department of Radiology, is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Medical Physics Review Course from March 19-22, 2019.
The event will be held on the Children’s Mercy Kansas City campus located directly south of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
The purpose of this four-day course is to provide a comprehensive medical review of physics for senior medical residents who are taking the ABR core exam in June 2019, or who are in preparation for it the following year.
The instructors for this course include medical physics faculty in the departments of radiology at Children’s Mercy and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
This premier review course will provide participants with an overview of concepts in imaging and radiation physics and will be conducted in an informal, interactive format that include lectures as well as Q&A sessions.
Programming will include: Day 1: X-Ray and Radiography Day 2: Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Interventional Radiology Day 3: RISE, Shielding & Radiation Protection, Radiobiology Day 4: Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine.

Bioinformatics Open House
Register to join us on November 7, 2019 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. to learn more about our Master of Science in Bioinformatics, Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research, and Interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs. We welcome current undergraduate students, working professionals, and health care practioners. At the event, you’ll learn more about:
- What can I do with a degree in bioinformatics?
- What does the application process entail?
- What does the curriculum look like and what support/connections are provided?
After a presentation, we will have a Q&A with staff, faculty, and students, as well as an optional Bioinformatics Suite Tour.
