The Sirridge Office of Medical Humanities and Bioethics has created a new award for students taking a medical humanities course. The Healing Arts Prize will be awarded for the first and second best pieces of literary prose written by a student in one of the medical humanities courses from Sept. 1, 2011, through Aug. 31, 2012. First prize will be $100. Second prize will be $50. Winners will also receive a certificate and recognition on the Sirridge Office website.
To be considered for the award, students must send a copy of their work to Lynda Payne, Ph.D., Sirridge Missouri Endowed Professor in Medical Humanities and Bioethics, M4-C03E, School of Medicine, by Aug. 1, 2012.
More information about the papers, topics, length, etc., will be provided in the medical humanities courses.
