What attracted you to the program: From the day I interviewed at UMKC, I knew this would be an incredible place to train. I wanted a program that would expose me to a wide variety of preventive medicine, research, and fuel my long-term interest in teaching. With a new fellowship that is designed to focus on preventive cardiovascular medicine in addition to diabetes, obesity, lipidology and nutrition, I will be clinically well-rounded. Furthermore, there was a real sense of collegiality amongst the fellows, faculty, and program leadership. Coming from a strong belief of supporting and healthy environment that value well-being and education, I knew that this program would offer a similar atmosphere and would be a place where I could thrive.
