Dear Prospective Residents,

Thank you for your interest in the combined AP/CP residency program in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC).
At our program, attendings dedicate one on one, individually tailored training to residents to refine their skills. Residents are provided with abundant educational resources and research opportunities. They are exposed to a variety of subspecialties and training experiences in affiliated institutions across the Kansas City metropolitan area. They are also granted opportunities to take part in conferences at a national and international level. The skill sets acquired at the end of their training, have earned our residents the opportunities to seek fellowship positions and employment in the top programs across the country. In addition, as a small and close-knit program, we put emphasis on team work. When not at work, we are often found spending quality time with each other. The training program at UMKC will not only hone your professional skills but will allow you to cultivate meaningful inter-personal relationships and experiences that will make for lasting lifelong memories. I wish you all the best!

Dr. Jay Johal
