Currently, Dr. Andronikou is the Chairman of Outreach for the World Federation of Pediatric Imaging (WFPI). In this role he has relentlessly worked to arrange training in pediatric radiology in Africa and has helped establish service opportunities in Africa through teleradiology connections between various institutions across the world. Perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments is the time he gives to numerous types and levels of mentees at multiple South African universities helping them perform research with very limited support in the face of extensive public health challenges. He inspires learners near and far with a dynamic lecture style that is engaging, energetic and humorous all at the same time. Further, he has the knack of using his experience to make complex subjects seem simple. The Department of Radiology at UMKC SOM is fortunate to have Prof. Savvas Andronikou as its 1st International Visiting Professor.
