Program offers faculty development in leadership, educational innovation

JosiahMacyJrFaculty members interested in developing their careers as educational innovators and future leaders are invited to apply to participate in the Macy Faculty Scholars Program offered by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation.

The two-year program is devoted to a mentored educational innovation project and other career development activities. Up to five program scholars are selected each year.

Faculty members selected to take part in the program are provided salary support of $100,000 in order to protect at least 50 percent of their time for program activities. Scholars must be have served five or more years as a faculty member, preferably at the sponsoring school, and be nominated by the dean of their school.

Scholars will participate in a national educational network, the annual Macy Faculty Scholars meeting, and have access to other Macy-funded activities.

Applications must be completed online at www.macyfoundation.org/macy-scholars by no later than 3 p.m. on March 6, 2013. Macy Faculty Scholar Program appointments will begin on Sept. 1. Finalists for the program will be selected in April, followed by interviews on June 11-12 and notification of selected scholars and their sponsoring schools on June 14.
