Rosado de Christenson honored as first recipient of ARRS Best Educator Award

rosado_awardDr Melissa Rosado de Christenson, UMKC Radiology Department faculty member, and Thoracic Imaging Section Chief at Saint Luke’s Hospital is honored at annual ARRS meeting, May 2010 in San Diego, by being the first person to receive the “ARRS Best Educator Award”. According to officials at the ARRS, the Best Educator Award is designed to honor educators in the field of radiology with a track record of (1) disseminating current scientific and clinical information in diagnostic radiology, (2) keeping the worldwide community of radiologists and other health professionals abreast of state-of-the-art techniques in radiology, (3) stimulating critical thinking in the science of radiology, (4) promoting research within radiology, (5) developing and supporting educators in radiology. The award celebrates inspirational people who are dedicated to providing education that results in improved participants’ competence and performance, which ultimately leads to improved patient outcomes. “Dr. Rosado de Christenson’s track record of exemplary education has influenced countless radiology residents, students, fellows and faculty, including myself. Her dedication is beyond compare, and certainly no one is more deserving of this award than she”, says Dr. Lisa Lowe, MD, Academic Chair, Radiology Department, UMKC.
