The School of Medicine will present Eve J. Higginbotham, SM, MD, senior vice president and executive dean for health sciences at Howard University, as the speaker at this year’s Dr. Reander and Mr. Henry Shannon Lectureship in Minority Health. The lecture will be at noon on Feb. 25 (Friday), in Theater A of the School of Medicine.
Higginbotham is an internationally renowned educator and researcher in the area of ophthalmology. She was appointed last year to a four-year term representing the Association of American Medical Colleges as a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
As executive dean and senior vice president at Howard Univeristy, Higginbotham oversees the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health, the Howard University Hospital and the Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library.
The annual Shannon Lectureship is open to the public.
