SOM researchers’ symposium talks highlighted in KCALSI newsletter

Shauna Roberts, M.D., associate professor of internal medicine, and Marilyn Rymer, M.D., professor of internal medicine and Edward T. Matheny Jr. Missouri Endowed Chair in Neuroscience, are highlighted in the current edition of the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute newsletter, Life Sciences Bulletin. Both spoke at the ­­KCALSI’s 10th annual symposium on April 14.

The symposium focused on how regional investigators are identifying ways to overcome health disparities. Roberts, a director of clinical outcomes, spoke on the social barriers that impact chronic disease management. Rymer talked about the need for women to be aware of their high risk of stroke.
