SOM welcomes Jetanalin to docent team

Beginning this fall, students will see new and different faces on four of the docent teams.

Pim Jetanalin, M.D., has joined the School of Medicine as the new docent for the Blue 2 team. Jetanalin earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University and later served as a general practitioner in Bangkok, Thailand. She completed her internal medicine residency at Bassett Healthcare, Columbia University in Cooperstown, NY, and recently completed a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of California-San Diego where she served as chief fellow. She has been active in research and has a number of research projects in progress.

Three current docents have changed or added unit assignments. Fariha Shafi, M.D., has moved to the Gold 7 team. Shafi has served as a docent at the SOM since 2007. Nurry Pirani, M.D., who came to the School last January as the Green 4 docent will also serve as Red 5 docent on an interim basis. Red 3 docent Chanda Banwat, M.D., will also serve as interim docent for the Blue 3 team through November. Banwat joined the SOM last April.
