Health Sciences Student Research Summit

The 9th annual UMKC Health Sciences Student Research Summit (HSSRS) was a virtual online event the week of May 18th to 22nd with 82 posters or oral presentations. There were four categories:

GRADUATE: including a Master’s student from the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, a Master’s student from the Biomedical and Health Informatics, Pharm D, Medical Residents, and BA/MD and MD Year 5 and 6 Medical students.

Category 1: Graduate – Poster – with 25 submissions

Category 2: Graduate – Oral PowerPoint Presentation– with 15 presentations

UNDERGRADUATE: including students from the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, and BA/MD and MD Years 1 to 4 Medical students.

Category 3: Undergraduate – Poster – with 35 submissions

Category 4: Undergraduate – Oral PowerPoint Presentation- with 7 presentations

The UMKC Health Sciences Research Summit enables members of the UMKC health sciences community to display poster presentations in a forum that:

  • Highlights the health sciences research being conducted in the UMKC Schools of Biological Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Health Studies, Pharmacy, and Computing and Engineering;
  • Fosters research collaborations across disciplines and schools that will produce economic, health, education and quality-of-life benefits for the greater Kansas City community.
