Amgad Masoud, M.D., assistant professor of medicine, a member of the Years 1-2 docent team since 2010, received this year’s Outstanding Years 1 and 2 Docent Award during the annual White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 15.
This is the second time he has received the outstanding docent award; he also won the award in 2013. Earlier this year, he received the Excellent Teaching Award for internal medicine residency faculty. He received that recognition in 2012 as well. He was also honored as School of Medicine’s Resident Teacher of the Year in 2008.
Masoud has also served as docent for the Years 3-through-6 Gold 3 team since joining the School of Medicine faculty in 2008.
Masoud received his medical degree with honors from the Cairo University School of Medicine. He then served as an attending physician in internal medicine at Cairo University School of Medicine and at Al Salam International Hospital in Cairo. In 2005, he came to the United States where he did an internal medicine residency at the UMKC School of Medicine before becoming full-time member of the faculty.
