The UMKC Libraries will celebrate Black History Month in February by participating in the 23rd National African American Read In with presentations of literary and other works by African-American authors and artists.
Read Ins will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Miller Nichols Library iX Theater and from noon-1:30 p.m. on Feb. 29 at Diastole on Hospital Hill. Participants can read, sing, or perform a work from an African-America author of their choice.
Admission to either event is free and participation is on a first come, first serve basis, or you may sign up online at http://library.umkc.edu/form/events to add your name to the list of sharers. The UMKC events are sponsored by the UMKC Friends of the Library, UMKC Libraries, and the UMKC Alumni Committee on Multicultural and Community Affairs.
