Immunizations
All students are required to meet the immunization requirements of UMKC and any hospitals at which they participate in clinical training. For Kansas City students, clinical sites will include University Health, Children’s Mercy Hospital, various additional clinical practice sites and any elective locations a student chooses. For St. Joseph students, clinical sites include Mosaic Life Care, University Health, various rural clinical practice sites and any elective locations a student chooses.
Immunization information will be collected by UMKC Student Health prior to the first day of classes. It is the student’s responsibility to:
- Maintain their own health records
- Stay in compliance and up-to-date with immunization requirements
- Provide records to clinical sites upon request and by noted deadlines
As immunization records are private health records of students, the School of Medicine is unable to keep these records on a student’s behalf.
Students can receive low-cost immunization and titer services from the UMKC Student Health Center. Students needing their records verified for outside clinical sites can obtain verification from the UMKC Student Health Center.
