About the Clinical Training Facility

The simulation team supports simulation education for students, residents, faculty and affiliated programs across multiple sites. The Clinical Training Facility (CTF) serves as a primary hub and houses the School’s Standardized Patient Program, which supports all UMKC health professions programs as well as several local hospitals and universities.

Student simulation

The School of Medicine offers many ways to get involved in simulation, including a medical education fellowship, medical student electives, internships and interest groups.

Standardized Patient program

Standardized Patients (SPs) are people who portray patients or family members so learners may practice their examination and communication skills. In addition, UMKC SPs also evaluate simulation participants from the patient perspective. Learn more about SPs, including how to become one.
