Evaluation & Computer Resources (ECR)


Overview of Department

Evaluation & Computer Resources, a division of the Office of Educational Resources, provides the School of Medicine with computer and software assistance, web site assistance and maintenance, testing services, database assistance, audio/video streaming services, digital signage services, UMKC Active Directory/Exchange/Email Single Sign On (SSO) accounts, and technology purchasing.

The department includes the Medical Education Media Center (MEMC), Large and SMall Testing Labs. It also works within the Office of Educational Resources (OER) to develop and maintain the School of Medicine’s Web site.

Computer Services

General Computer/Software Support for the Medical School:
When contacting Evaluation and Computer Resources for service (phone or email), please provide the following information:

  • name
  • office number/address
  • type of equipment requiring service
  • description of problem
  • status of situation – i.e. is the problem an:
    • Emergency = compromising ability to do your job – need assistance as soon as possible.
    • Urgent = need assistance as soon as possible, but can still function to some degree
    • Routine = can work with the situation until assistance is available
  • Contact Erin Williams, ext. 1895, for assistance with:
  • Microsoft Windows-based hardware/software issues
  • E-mail problems (with exception of above Call Center directives)
  • Password resets for expired or locked UMKC accounts
  • Network connectivity

NOTE: All University computer-related equipment/hardware purchases must be authorized and, in most cases, purchased by Christopher Boyce due to: general approval, adherence to University standards and security – including support matrix guidelines and possible alternative recommendations/solutions, and (best) price matching.
