Application Timeline


Fall Semester Admission:

May 1: Application Deadline – International Applicants

The UMKC Application for International Student Admission is due by this date. All supporting documents must also be postmarked via mail or submitted online by this date (this includes transcripts, test scores, goal statement, resume/CV, and letters of recommendation). Applications that become complete late will be reviewed on a space-available basis, and incomplete applications will not be considered for admission.

Please review the table found here for primary discipline deadlines. All application materials must be received in the General Admissions Office by the earliest discipline deadline. (For example, if one discipline’s deadline is February 1 and the other is March 15, then application materials must be received by the February 1 deadline).

June 1: Application Deadline – U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents

The UMKC General Application for Admission is due by this date. All supporting documents must also be postmarked via mail or submitted online by this date (this includes transcripts, test scores, goal statement, resume/CV and letters of recommendation). Applications that become complete late will be reviewed on a space-available basis, and incomplete applications will not be considered for admission.

Ongoing: Offers of Admission are Extended

Applications for the Bioinformatics Co-discipline are reviewed on the third Friday of each month. Applicants offered admission will be emailed the admissions decision from the School of Medicine Office of Admissions, and applicants can expect a decision within approximately two weeks of the review date. All decisions of the admissions committee are final.

August: Classes Begin

Students who have been offered admission for the fall semester and who have accepted the offer of admission will matriculate to the Interdisciplinary PhD Studies Program with the Bioinformatics Co-discipline in August.

Spring Semester Admission:
