UMKC School of Medicine St. Joseph Campus
Attending the UMKC School of Medicine Campus located in St. Joseph, Missouri, you will be located at one of the nation’s premier rural hospitals, Mosaic Life Care. You will also be within miles of historic downtown St. Joseph, a community of approximately 100,000 people with an accomplished arts scene, miles of trails, and a reawakened downtown amongst a background of historic architecture. You can also enjoy modern shopping and dining options along the Belt Highway or the Shoppes at North Village, or you can learn of the region’s rich history at the Pony Express Museum, Patee House Museum, or the Jesse James Home. St. Joseph is also the Summer Training Camp home to the champion Kansas City Chiefs.

As a St. Joe-based student with the UMKC School of Medicine, you’ll have access to one of the largest private rural primary care networks in the nation at Mosaic Life Care. Mosaic is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network and was recognized as a “Most Wired” hospital for its sophisticated IT and telehealth assets. You’ll have access to Mosaic’s four hospitals including a critical access hospital, as well as nine rural primary care clinics across northwestern Missouri.

Mosaic Life Care is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network and the recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Mosaic Life Care carries a 5 Star Quality Rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, an A rating by the Leapfrog Group, and was recognized as a “Most Wired” hospital for its sophisticated IT and telehealth assets. Mosaic Life Care uses its IT and telehealth prowess to utilize Mayo Clinic medical expertise via the Mayo eConsults program. Mosaic provides rural primary care clinics in Missouri (Albany, Bethany, Cameron, Grant City, New Hampton, Savannah, St. Joseph, Stanberry, Trenton, Maryville) and Kansas (Atchison, Hiawatha, Sabetha, Troy). Mosaic Life Care’s extensive high-quality rural healthcare network and state-of-the-art telehealth capabilities will provide the rural clinical backbone for our MD program.
