Our mission is to provide students with comprehensive career services so they may select an appropriate and fulfilling career in medicine.  We offer a comprehensive program that begins with the mentorship of students when choosing their profession to navigating through the complex residency application process.  We appreciate that each student is in a different phase of their career development and have broken down our advising into the sections below.  Please contact us with any questions!

Please provide us feedback for our website here.

We keep up-to-date information on our Canvas organization. UMKC medical students should already have access, but please email us if you encounter any issues.

Upcoming Events

Mock Virtual Interviews

(6th yr students only)

Students will be scheduled for 1 virtual mock interview with a faculty member or a member of the Career Services Department.  Assignments will be random and based on the time slot the student signs up for. Please use the interview schedule for a reference  and email Dr. Riss your top 3 times you are available.  Interviews will be arranged based on the order of the emails received.  The schedule will be updated every 24 hrs for students to see their assigned slots.  Please sign up by Monday, September 14th.  Assignments will be revealed by Wednesday, September 16th.  If students have an interview before then Dr. Riss will notify them.  Once the assignments are revealed through the interview schedule link students will set up a zoom meeting with their assigned interviewer and send them their personal statement and CV. It is the student’s responsibility to do this NOT the interviewer.  Before your interview we recommend that you review the interviewing curriculum. Consider recording your video through zoom so you can critique yourselves and see how your setup looks.
