Admission Timeline

IMPORTANT: Submission deadlines for the MSA application have changed significantly. Please review the deadlines below for more information. 2026 interviews will also be virtual.

March 10: The Centralized Application Service for Anesthesiologist Assistants (CASAA) application opens

The application process involves three separate applications:

June 1: CASAA verification deadline*

The CASAA application must be submitted and verified by June 1. However, if June 1 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next business day. CASAA applications that are submitted or verified after the deadline will be considered late.

  • Please note that CASAA verification can take up to 2-4 weeks to process

June 15: Secondary Application (MSA Student Portal), Test Score, and UMKC General Application deadline*

After the CASAA application has been verified, applicants will receive an email with information on how to access the MSA Student Portal. In the Portal, applicants will be able to:

  • Review the technical standards
  • Verifying shadowing experiences
  • Complete the final submission of the MSA Student Portal

All of the above tasks must be completed by June 15.

Official MCAT/GRE test scores are also due by June 15. Scores from May test dates are the latest test scores that will be accepted for each cycle.

  • Please note that while CASAA verification is required by June 1, applicants have until June 15 to submit official test scores through CASAA.
The UMKC General Application for Admission and the UMKC application fee are also due by June 15.

Late-July: Offers to interview are extended

IMPORTANT: Interviews for the MSA program will be virtual unless otherwise notified.

  • Applicants selected for an interview or placed on the interview waitlist will be notified electronically.
  • Applicants not selected for an interview will be notified electronically, as well.
  • All applicants selected for an interview must select and confirm a date for their interview.

Mid-September: Interviews take place

All interviews will be virtual for the 2026 cycle. Candidates will interview either in the morning or afternoon session.

Late-September: Offers of admission are extended

Applicants offered admission will be notified electronically of their acceptance to the program. Students placed on the waitlist or denied to the program will also be notified electronically.

Admission decisions are not communicated via phone. All decisions of the admissions committee are final.

January: Classes begin

Students who have been offered admission and who have accepted the offer of admission will matriculate to the School of Medicine Master of Science in Anesthesia program in January.

 

*If any of these materials are submitted after the deadlines provided, the application will be considered late and reviewed with other late applications at the discretion of the admissions committee. The admissions committee does not guarantee the review of applications that become complete late. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Once admissions decisions have been made, no other applications for admission will be considered.
