Biography

 Dr. Ahern joined the UMKC Department of Community and Family Medicine in 1999. Prior to that she practice at practiced at Swope Parkway Comprehensive Health Center.

Dr. Ahern spends her clinical time at the Grain Valley and Fairmont Clinics. She also serves as Medical Director for UMKC Roo Wellness Health Services on the Volker campus. When at Lakewood Medical Center, Dr. Ahern primarily staffs the family medicine clinic and residents. Dr. Ahern also serves on the UH Utilization Review and Resource Management Committee.

Dr. Ahern especially enjoys teaching the residents and following their progress as they gain experience and confidence

Dr. Ahern has a passion for travel, enjoys cake-decorating, snow skiing, reading and hiking. She is the mother of 4 daughters, grandmother to 13 grandchildren, reared her nephew, plus multiple foster children and foreign exchange students.
