Biography

 In 2019, Dr. Barnett was appointed Section Chief of Integrative Medicine. In 2011, Dr. Barnett was promoted to Associate Professor. In 2018, Dr. Barnett was appointed UMKC School of Medicine Clerkship Director. From 2007-2022, Dr. Barnett served as Core Faculty. Since 2005, Dr. Barnett has served as a Faculty Advisor for UMKC School of Medicine Sojourner Clinic. Since 2009, Dr. Barnett has served as Medical Director for Jackson County Public Health Department.

Dr. Barnett is a primary care physician, utilizing integrative medicine at the University Health Primary Care Lakewood Pavilion. Her approach to care is to develop individualized, client-centered programs that view health in the context of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance to facilitate wellness and achieve optimal healing. Academically, she enjoys teaching medical students and residents both Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Barnett grew up in the Rocky Mountains and is an outdoor enthusiast who can be found hiking, biking, skiing, gardening; and has a passion for healthy gourmet cooking.
