Rachel Sachs, D.O., CAQ-SM (She/Her)

Biography

 Dr. Sachs is the Chair for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for the Department of Community and Family Medicine. Dr. Sachs also serves as faculty for the Sports Medicine Fellowship, leading didactic sessions. In 2022, Dr. Sachs was appointed Lead Team Physician for Premier Rugby Sevens. In 2023, Dr. Sachs was appointed to the Medical Advisory Board of League One Volleyball and Team Physician of USA Women’s Rugby team.

Dr. Sachs is a trained osteopathic physician and perform Osteopathic Manipulation at both University Health locations. As a primary care sports medicine doctor, she work with people of all ages specializing in non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including concussions, fractures, sprain, strains, etc. Dr. Sachs also performs ultrasound-guided injections to help manage multiple conditions.

After finishing her fellowship, Dr. Sachs spent two years in St. Louis as a Sports medicine physician. While teaching internal medicine students, she found her love of teaching and desire to find a career in academic medicine. Luckily, she found my dream job here at University Health. As a medical student, she did a rotation at University Health and fell in love with Kansas City. Outside of medicine she enjoys camping, hiking, traveling the world, and spending time with her family and dog.
