Biography

Dr. Oliver is a board-certified dermatologist practicing general medical dermatology. Born and raised in Orlando, Fla., Dr. Oliver completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, after which she went on to graduate with distinction from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. While there, she received several awards including the Walter F. Rosenberg Award in Dermatology, bestowed upon the medical student who demonstrates the greatest interest, proficiency, and scholastic achievement in dermatology. She remained in Washington, DC to complete her internal medicine internship at MedStar Health Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center. Her dermatology residency then took her to the University of Pennsylvania, where she received top-notch training in adult, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in addition to dermatopathology from internationally recognized experts in the field. After graduating and spending three years in private practice, she is now joining the growing team at University Health as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Associate Program Director at the UMKC/University Health Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Oliver practices general medical and surgical dermatology with a special interest in pigmentary disorders and hair loss. She is passionate about mentorship and the power of sharing knowledge and clinical skills with compassionate, motivated residents and students with the ultimate goal of improving patient care, advocating for underrepresented groups in medicine, and contributing to larger efforts to move the field forward. Dr. Oliver is recognized as a Top Doctor in Kansas City Magazine and as a Rising Star Doctor in dermatology by Castle Connolly. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), currently serving on the AAD Public Web Content Work Group, which works to promote public health education, create important and helpful patient resources, and foster easy access to accurate medical information regarding skin, hair, and nail conditions. She is also an active member of the Skin of Color Society (SOCS) and serves on the SOCS Technology and Media Committee as part of a greater mission to develop public-facing dermatology initiatives utilizing technology and social media. She is also the incoming Treasurer of the Kansas City Dermatological Society. In her free time, Dr. Oliver enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and their three Italian Greyhounds.
