Biography

Dr. Rajpara is a professor of dermatology and the founding chair of the University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC) department of dermatology at University Health. Dr. Rajpara is passionate about providing care for underserved patient populations. For the past 9 years he has volunteered as the director of the dermatology free clinic at KC Care Health Center occurring on the first and third Saturday of every month. His belief in academic healthcare for all, regardless of ability to pay, is what led him to join the UMKC School of Medicine and establish the department of dermatology at University Health.

Dr. Rajpara completed his undergraduate education at Emory University earning a B.S. degree in neuroscience and induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society. He went on to complete his medical school training at the University of Maryland where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Rajpara completed his medical internship at the University of Maryland followed by Dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Hospital where he served as Chief Resident. After residency he joined faculty at the University of Kansas Hospital. While at the University of Kansas Hospital Dr. Rajpara served multiple leadership roles including residency program director, director of medical student education, and medical director of the dermatology division.

Dr. Rajpara is an expert in complex medical dermatology and has published more than 125 peer-reviewed articles on a wide range of dermatology topics. He has authored several chapters in dermatology textbooks and has given numerous poster and oral presentations on dermatology-related subjects at national conferences. Dr. Rajpara is a section editor of the national bestselling dermatology board review textbook: Review of Dermatology.
