Biography
Dr. Wu earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and graduated with honors. He graduated from Brown University Medical School and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He initially trained in Family Medicine at Tufts/Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals where he served as chief resident. He moved to Kansas City to complete a second residency in Dermatology at the University of Kansas where he also served as chief resident. He volunteered regularly and was the Director of medical student education at the Dermatology Free Clinic at KC Care Clinic where they treated uninsured and under-insured patients.
Dr. Wu practices at Kansas City Skin & Cancer Center and is recognized as a Top Doctor by the Castle Connolly Top Doctors®. He also regularly volunteers at Care Beyond the Boulevard to provide dermatologic care to under-insured and unhoused patients. Dr. Wu has published medical textbook chapters and numerous research articles in medical journals. He worked with MD Anderson Cancer Center as a dermoscopy expert to establish multi-center consensus guidelines to help train dermatologists and other physicians to identify skin cancer more effectively. He is a Contributing Editor of Harvard Health Publishing to help educate the general public about medical conditions. He serves as teaching faculty at the University of Kansas Dermatology Residency Program and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Missouri Kansas City.
