Biography
Dr. Hampton was born in Kansas City and raised in the small town of Cleveland, Missouri. He attended undergraduate school at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, earning a Bachelors degree in science. He then attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Pharmacy, earning his degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) in 2007. In his final year of pharmacy school, Dr. Hampton had the distinct honor of being selected to serve on the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) national Student Forum Executive Council. He was also selected as a recipient of the prestigious ASHP Student Leadership Award, one that is awarded to only 4 students in each professional year of pharmacy school nationwide. He subsequently completed his pharmacy practice residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and was selected to serve as a chief resident.Following residency, Dr. Hampton returned to Kansas City to join the faculty of the UMKC School of Pharmacy, becoming a full time Clinical Assistant Professor. He also joined the Truman Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine where he works as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
