James O'Brien, M.D.

Biography

I grew up in in a western suburb of Chicago called Wheaton. I bounced from Missouri (undergrad at Wash U.), back to Chicago (medical school at Loyola), and then back to Missouri for residency here at UH/TMC. I then worked in the community for two years, but ultimately missed the camaraderie which made a profound impact on me as a resident. My academic interests are psychiatric illness in the ED, trauma and violence prevention, and sepsis. On a personal level I love pugs, culture, nature, and Chicago sports.
