Biography
Mr. Petersen began his anesthesia career with Ozark Anesthesia Associates located at Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO in 2012. He spent the first four years of his career there, immediately started precepting students, and established a successful rotation site. Adam is also published in Robert and Hedges’ Clinical Procedures in Emergency Medicine, 6th edition with his work on advanced airway techniques. In early 2016 he started working at Saint Luke’s Kansas City. After settling in and expanding his clinical skill set, he accepted the Director of Simulation position with the UMKC MSA program. His inspiration to teaching came from a desire to get students as prepared as possible for clinical experience through simulation.
During his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. They like to spend as much time outdoors as possible, this includes fishing, hiking, swimming, and playing sports. He finds happiness when people around him are living to the fullest.
