Biography

Dr. Donohoe is Clinical Professor and Chairman in the Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine(UMKC). He was born in New York City, attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York graduating in 1972. He completed his internal medicine internship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his neurology residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital School of Medicine in Manhattan, New York. He has practiced clinical neurology in Kansas City since 1977.

Dr. Donohoe is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in Neurorehabilitation by the American Society of Neurorehabilitation and in Neuroimaging by the United Council for Neurologic subspecialties. He holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Society of Neuroimaging.

Dr. Donohoe’s interests include general neurology, multiple sclerosis, neuroimaging and telemedicine. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, co-edited a book on evoked potentials and given many oral presentations at neurologic conferences.

He has been Clinical Professor and Chairman of Neurology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine since 2017 and was a founding member of the board of the UMKC Sirridge Office of Medical Humanities. He has received multiple’teacher of the year’ awards from the residents in the neurology department at UMKC.
