Biography

Dr. Canty, the Medical Director of the Center for Sports Medicine at Children’s Mercy Hospital, is a pediatrician with fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Canty graduated with a BS in Biology/Chemistry from Western Kentucky University and from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his Pediatrics residency in 2000 at the University of Louisville. He was faculty in the Pediatric Departments at Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Louisville, and the University of North Carolina before coming to UMKC in 2004.
